About Valmeinier

This fantastic ski resort is situated at the foot of the Mont Thabor, it is a medium sized ski resort. In 1973, the ski resort experienced the installation of the first ski lift. Installed in 1973, in L’Armera, to join up with Valloire, which had already been operating for a few years. In 1986, the resort at 1800 m launched and the Gros Crey ski area equipped with lifts. The ski area that is mutually shared by the resorts of Valmeinier and Valloire has a new name which is knowns as Galibier Thabor Samoens. The town is practically self-sufficient with lots of its inhabitants, living off the Alps.
